Family Partnership Program

The Family Partnership Program (FPP) is an intensive 12-week in-home crisis intervention program designed to alleviate any crisis that might lead to out-of-home placement of children. Additionally, it is designed to maintain the safety of children in their own homes and assist families in obtaining services.

Target Population

The Family Partnership Program accepts families who are involved with the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Children, Youth and Families and who are at risk for one of more of their children being placed outside of the home due to neglect, abuse or serious parent/child conflict.

The Family Partnership Program accepts families with at least one adult who is willing to participate in the program. The child (or children) resides in the home, and in cases where alleged or actual sexual abuse has occurred, the perpetrator does not have access to the child.

Goals

  • To maintain the safety and welfare of the children and of all family members while empowering, strengthening, and preserving the family unit.
  • To focus on the family as a whole, and to identify strengths and meet family and individual needs.

Services

The Family Partnership Program provides crisis and non-crisis intervention and assessment of child safety, family and child needs. Services include safety management, family and individual counseling, parent education, home management skills training, academic support, respite services, information and/or referrals regarding family needs and an aftercare plan.

Services are flexible and responsive to family needs, provided primarily in the home and in a manner which respects cultural and community differences.

Location

The Family Partnership Program is located in TRY’s Training Center in the East Liberty area of Pittsburgh. and is easily accessible by public transportation.

Program office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Referral Information

Families are referred for in-home services by the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, Office of Children, Youth and Families. Referrals are accepted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
